Area Manager – CHT Healthcare Trust

CHT is a leading provider of aged residential care services with facilities in Auckland, Bay of Plenty and Waikato. We are growing strongly and are committed to maintaining excellence in care delivery as we grow.

CHT has a strong clinical governance framework. Our Board has a Quality Health and Safety Committee that provides governance oversight. Our Area Managers, who are registered nurses, are part of the clinical governance group. Each Facility has a unit manager and a clinical co-ordinator, both of whom are registered nurses.

We currently have three Area Managers and we want to add a fourth. The new Area Manager will have responsibility for between 4 and 6 facilities and move into our Quality Manager role as responsibilities are transferred from our existing Quality Manager.

The Area Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the facilities they manage and for providing HR and Quality support and advice.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and as a member of our senior management team the area manager will contribute to strategic planning and overall operational management of the Trust.

Preferred applicants will be registered nurses who are strong clinical leaders with excellent understanding of quality management systems and audit processes. With good commercial understanding and experience in managing large workforces, the area manager will work well in team environments and have the presence and capability to lead and act independently.

This is a full-time position Monday to Friday 0700-1530. Key tasks will involve mowing lawns, weeding, pruning plants, shrubs and trees, spraying moss and weeds, water blasting path ways and tidying the grounds as necessary.

A van is provided for commuting and work use.

We are looking for someone with:

– A nationally recognised horticultural qualification or a minimum five years’ gardening experience
