We have an opportunity for experienced Healthcare Assistants to work full time and casual shifts working days and/or night options. You must be able to work weekend shifts. You will be working with a positive and experienced team with the opportunity to grow in the role.

Some Duties include but not limited to:

  • Report to the duty nurse and complete delegated tasks in a timely manner
  • Residents’ personal care tasks i.e. hygiene, grooming, toileting
  • Including mobilising, shaving, brushing of teeth and hair
  • Maintain documents in resident healthcare records
  • Serving and assisting with meals
  • The opportunity to learn and train for more senior HCA roles – vital signs, diabetes care, simple wound dressings, medication giving, etc.

Skills and Experience

  • 1+ years of previous aged care experience preferred
  • Experience in hospital and/or dementia care
  • New Zealand Certificate in Health and wellbeing or equivalent preferred
  • People skills with empathy for the elderly and their families
  • The ability to work in a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

We have an opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to work Casual shifts. These are mostly morning or afternoon shifts and night duties are also available if you want to work nights. You will be working with a positive and enjoyable team and have the opportunity to grow in the role. While no guarantee, we anticipate plenty of casual work both here and at our sister facility CHT St Johns 10 minutes away. Permanent and full-time positions do become available from time to time.

Temp Part time Saturday and Sunday 4pm to 8pm.

Our CHT Royal Oak facility is a 40 bed rest home with an experienced team of nurses and healthcare assistants who are passionate about caring for our residents.

Our registered nurses provide clinical care, including assessments, planning and delivery of care according to accepted nursing practise and standards with empathy and respect for our residents.

We have an opportunity available until the COVID alert levels move to Green for an experienced Registered Nurse looking to return to practice or wanting some short shifts while transitioning back to the workforce. We anticipate that these shifts will be available for approximately two to three months. Other shifts may become available after this time.
