COVID-19 UPDATE: Alert Level 4 Extension – Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions

The Prime Minister has announced a further extension of the Alert Level 4 restrictions, meaning all our CHT facilities remain in full lockdown.

The Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions remain in Alert Level 4 lockdown until 11.59pm on Tuesday 31 August.

Please remind your staff members working at any of our CHT facilities to remain vigilant when it comes to infection control practices, extra cleaning of surfaces, undergoing health checks, taking part in staff briefings and wearing PPE in line with the MOH guidelines.

Another important point to reinforce with your team, is that if any of your staff members are unwell, or have COVID-19 symptoms, they may not come to work at any CHT facility and if they should contact their GP or Health line on 0800 358 5453. Please also make sure your staff members are keeping an eye on the growing list of the places of interest: https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-health-advice-public/contact-tracing-covid-19/covid-19-contact-tracing-locations-interest and that they take action in line with MOH guidelines.

Thank you again for your hard work, we really do appreciate your support and dedication to helping us take great care of our residents. Should you have any questions, or require more specific information please speak with the Area Manager or Unit Manager.

We continue to closely monitor the Government’s announcements and will keep in touch as the situation evolves.
