Chief Executive
Max has been Chief Executive of CHT since 1999. Prior to working for the Trust he was employed as Chief Executive of Taranaki Crown Health Enterprise and Taranaki Area Health Board. Max was appointed Human Resource Manager of Taranaki Area Health Board after working for Olex Cables as Personnel Officer. Max is actively involved in the aged care sector and is currently Deputy Chairman of the New Zealand Aged Care Association.

Steve Duncan BCA
Finance Manager
Steve joined CHT as Finance Manager in 2007. As well as the Finance function Steve is responsible for the Trusts IT systems. He has considerable experience in senior financial roles working for Lion Nathan as Systems & Process Manager Continuous Improvement before working for CHT. His other roles have included National Accounting manager for New Zealand Wines and Spirits, Pricing Analyst with the Ford Motor Company and Production Accountant with General Motors NZ.
Carol Ropati RGON, BHSc Nursing, Post Grad Diploma
Quality Manager
Carol has worked for CHT since 2008. She is a registered nurse with extensive experience in nurse management and clinical roles. Before joining CHT Carol was Nurse Manager at Pacificare Trust Centre and Hospital. Previous roles included working as a Public Health Nurse and Casemix Educator with Counties Manuaku District Health Board and Clinical lecturer for Manukau Institute of Technology.
Robin White BCom, Grad. Cert. Career Development
Human Resource Advisor
Robin had a background in recruitment and marketing before joining CHT in 2007 as Homecare HR Co-ordinator. In 2008 Robin was appointed to her current role providing HR advice and support to all of CHT’s residential care facilities. Robin’s previous roles have included Recruitment Consultant for Thornton Earl Ltd and Product management and marketing roles with Johnson & Johnson, Cadbury Schweppes and Reckitt & Coleman.
Annette Wright (RGON)
Manager Royal Oak Court
Annette has been manager of Royal Oak Court since 2003 moving into that role shortly after the complete rebuild of the rest home. As a registered nurse Annette gained her experience in aged care at St Johns Hospital. Before joining the Trust Annette was involved in running her family business. Annette worked in a variety of nursing roles after graduation including working in acute medical wards at Greenlane Hospital A&E nursing, and nursing for a bureau.
Christine Ndala RN / MW, BHsc. (Nursing),BSsc. Human services, MSW Applied
Manager St Christophers Hospital and Rest Home
Christine is a registered nurse who joined CHT in her present role in 2008. Her nursing career has included work in the mental health field and care of the elderly with roles at Spectrum Care Trust, Challenge Trust, Elmwood Hospital and Pine Tree Lodge Hospital. Prior to coming to New Zealand Christine worked in nursing homes in the UK and Malawi.
Jane Morgan Dip Higher Education (Nursing Studies)
Manager, Onewa Lodge
Jane had extensive experience working in aged care in Scotland before migrating to New Zealand. This included working as Charge Nurse at Stonehouse Hospital in Lanarkshire and as Staff Nurse at Spynie Hospital, Moray. After coming to New Zealand in 2008, Jane worked as a Registered Nurse in aged care wards at North Shore Hospital. Jane joined CHT in 2010..
Sue Calvo RGON
Manager Hillcrest Hospital
Sue has extensive experience in aged residential care, including working as Facility Support Manager for the Oceania Group, Facility Manager at Lexham Gardens and as Owner Operator of Lakeside Retirement Lodge.
In addition to her work in aged care, Sue has considerable international nursing experience working for the Red cross in Yugoslavia, Thailand, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Sue complemented her management and nursing skills with formal training as a Health Care Auditor. She took up her role as Manager of Hillcrest Hospital in 2010.
Liz Webb RN, Dip Sc, BSc (Hons) Health Studies
Manager St Margarets Hospital and Rest Home
Liz has been manager of St Margarets since 2006.She trained as a registered Nurse in Walton Hospital Liverpool and has a varied career in the health sector. She arrived in NZ in 1980 to work in neurosciences and subsequently was employed as duty manager at Auckland Public Hospital. She has experience in general Intensive care, neuro-intensive care, paediatrics general surgery, medicine & sterile services and most recently aged Care.
Jenny Vollmer RN R Mid
Manager St Johns Hospital
Jenny has worked as Manager of St Johns Hospital since she came to New Zealand from the UK in 2006 where she had extensive experience managing aged care facilities. Jenny trained as a registered nurse in South Africa and worked in a range of nursing positions before moving to Britain.
Chris Hall RGON
Manager Lansdowne Hospital and Rest Home
Chris joined CHT in 1996, initially managing St Christophers Hospital and Rest Home and has worked as manager of Lansdowne Hospital and Rest Home since 2006. Between these positions Chris worked for three years as Manager of Wharerangi Home and Hospital in Taupo.
Chris is a registered nurse with a wide range of experience in aged care, orthopaedics and in the armed services.
Iris Durney RGON, Dip Mgt, TESOL
Manager of Waiuku Estuary Village
Iris joined CHT as Manager of Waiuku Estuary Village in 2010 after returning from the UK where she worked for 4 years as Manager of Helen Ley Care Centre in Warwickshire and as Matron of the Knoll Nursing Home in Yeovil.
Iris has extensive experience working in aged care in New Zealand and worked as a Management Surveyor with Quality Health and as a licensing advisor with the Ministry of Health.
Cath Bartlett SRN, EN
Manager of Amberlea Rest Home
Cath emigrated to New Zealand from Scotland in 1996 where she gained extensive experience as a District Nurse. When she first came to New Zealand Cath worked at Amberlea and then took up a District Nurse position with Waitemata District Health Board. Following her employment with the DHB, Cath worked for 6 years at Warkworth Wellsford Hospice. She returned to Amberlea as Assistant Manager in 2008 and was appointed manager of Amberlea when CHT purchased the rest home in June 2010.
